Obituary

Arnold, Lylian "Lyl", age 77, of Weymouth formerly of Roslindale, passed away after a long illness on August 17, 2026 surrounded by several faithful friends.

Lylian was born on July 6th, 1949 to her parents Walter and Frances Arnold, who predeceased her. She is also predeceased by her only sibling, Elizabeth (Lyz) Doherty, her neice Stephanie Arnold and a great friend, Jo Spencer.

Lylian is survived by her brother in law, Artie Doherty of Roslindale, her two stepsons, Michael Mackan and wife Joyce of Dorchester, and Chris “Tiger” Stockbridge and wife Jamie of Natick.
She is also survived by her Aunt Alta,
many cousins and their children
who called her “Auntie Lylian, and her goddaughter, Kerri Williams.

She will be missed by many especially her long time friends, and family members of friends.

Lylian started working for Edison (now known as Eversource) right after graduating high school until her retirement.

Lylian’s favorite things to do were: puzzles; reading; watching and listening to sports; spending time with her niece Stephanie & her dog Mason; hanging out with her friends on Tuesdays; her Catholic Faith; FaceTiming with Tiger & Jamie on their worldly adventures; and always texting her loves on a daily basis to tell them how much she loved them.

In her childhood, Lylian loved her trips to Rye New Hampshire and it will always hold a very special place in her heart.

Lylian was truly an angel and the kind of person who always put everyone else above herself. She was always there for everyone with a kind word or anything she could do to help. However didnt want to bother others with assisting her.

Lylian will be greatly missed by many, especially her faithful friends of recent years where she forged her greatest relationships.
