Bruce Philip Christie, age 78, of Clearwater, Florida passed away on Saturday, August 29th. Raised in Somerville, he was the son of the late William and Ethel (Wright) Christie. Bruce proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War, and in addition to the Combat Infantryman Badge, he was awarded a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medal. After returning to civilian life, Bruce was employed as an automotive mechanic.
Bruce was the beloved husband of Rosemarie (Spinosa) Christie, and the devoted father of Laura Christie, and Matthew Christie and his wife Megan. Bruce is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Paris Dzibinski, Thad Dzibinski and Braeden Christie
Visiting hours will be held in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Tuesday, September 8th from 4 to 6 PM, and again on Wednesday, September 9th at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford St., Somerville, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
