Obituary

Bridgewater- Harold R. "Bud" Terpeny Jr., 66, of Bridgewater and Marion, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, at Brockton Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Claire (Lavalley) Terpeny for 42 years.

Born in Marion, he was the son of the late Harold and Elizabeth (Smith) Terpeny.

He was a graduate of Tabor Academy in Marion, Class of 1958, and Stonehill College in 1963.

Mr. Terpeny served 10 years as an officer at Harbor One Credit Union in Brockton. He previously worked at New England Telephone Co. for 30 years.

He was a member of St. Ann's Church and was involved in his community serving on various town committees throughout the years.

Mr. Terpeny was a member of the Sippican Land Trust, Marion Historical Society, Institute of Internal Auditors and Verizon Pioneers.

He was a past treasurer and president of the Brockton Chapter of Toastmasters International.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Raymond of Marion and David and his wife Sara of Springfield, Va.; grandfather of Harry and Margaret; brother of Anne Mayo of Salem, N.H. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Ann's Church, West Bridgewater. Burial is private.

Visiting hours are Monday 4-7 p.m. in the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater.
