James Ellis beloved father, friend and longtime Boston resident, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Friday, August 21,2026 in Neponset. He was 69 years old.
Known to family and friends as Seamus, he was a good hearted man who will be dearly missed by those who knew and cared for him.
Moving from Ireland as a young man, he wore many hats including wielder, bartender and driver for the MBTA. Although he drove a bus for a living, his favorite mode of transportation was always his bicycle. He became a familiar part of the Boston community through his work, his love of the city-and his unmistakable personality. He had a jovial nature and among his favorite things were the simple pleasures of a game of pool and a pint at the local pub.
He is survived by his two daughter , Joann and Amanda and his dear sister Ann who cared for his affairs during his illness among many others whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved his laugh and rascally nature, on both sides of the Atlantic.
A memorial celebration will be held in the future for all who want to wish him well on the long strange journey that was his life. Those who wish to be notified of the event, please contact family or respond to this posting.
