Obituary

June Harper Phillips, 90, of the Osierfield community in Irwin County, Georgia, died Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Osierfield Cemetery in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. Sammy Smith officiating.

Mrs. Phillips was born June 3, 1936, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Meeks & Della Mae Carver Harper. She attended Irwin County schools and John D Archhold Training school where she received her Licensed Practical Nursing certificate. Mrs. Phillips was a saleslady at Loehmann’s Department Store in Atlanta for over 15 years. She later worked as an LPN for Crawford W. Long Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, now, Emory University. Mrs. Phillips thoroughly enjoyed visiting people in the community and telling them about the Lord.

She is survived by her sisters: Glenda Harper Buchek of Osierfield and Delphine Harper Delaneuville of Osierfield, a brother; Michael Harper of Knoxville, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Phillips; three brothers: David Harper, Albert Harper, and Aubrey Harper; and two sisters: Joyce Harper Burley and Gail Harper.

Paulk Funeral Home, Ocilla, is in charge of arrangements.
