Lorraine (Perry) MacPherson, 90, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Lowell on February 8, 1936, the daughter of the late John Perry and the late Lillian (Beland) Perry. Lorraine was married to the love of her life, Robert M. MacPherson, until his passing in 1990.
Lorraine was a truly special woman who was loved by everyone who were fortunate enough to know her. She was known for being the greatest mother, her love for life, her big and beautiful personality, her wonderful sense of humor, and her caring nature.
She loved to laugh, but even more, she loved making others laugh. She was famous for her quick wit and perfectly timed one-liners. She had a remarkable gift for making even the saddest person smile.
Lorraine was never attached to things, she was attached to people. Her family and friends were her greatest treasures. She cherished the people in her life and made each of them feel loved, welcomed, and special.
When she was younger, Lorraine loved hosting big parties and gatherings for family and friends. Her home was always filled with laughter and love. As the years went on and her health declined, those parties became smaller, having more intimate visits with the people she loved most. Lorraine had an open-door policy, and everyone was always welcome in her home. There was always room for one more person at her table, one more story to tell, and, of course, plenty of laughter.
She is survived by her two children, Steven MacPherson and his wife, Janet, of North Chelmsford, and Leah MacPherson and her husband, Paul Donnelly, of Lowell; and her two grandchildren, Robbie and Maddie MacPherson, whom she adored. She was the sister of Robert Perry and his wife, Jacqueline, of Dracut, and Barbara P. Perry of New Hampshire. She was predeceased by her brother, John Perry, Jr., and his wife, Arlene; her sister, Dorothy Beck, and her husband, Robert; and her brother, Raymond Perry, and his wife, Muriel. She also leaves many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and very dear friends.
Lorraine will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her warmth and, her kindness, her quick wit, and her enormous heart will live on in the many people whose lives she touched.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 3, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury, immediately followed by a remembrance service at the funeral home. Services will conclude with interment at St. Mary Cemetery, 90 River Road, Tewksbury, MA.
