Arthur Wilfred Boutin, 82, of Londonderry, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, at Nashua Post Acute Care following a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born on July 24, 1944, in Methuen, Massachusetts, he was the beloved son of the late Wilfred and Irene (Bergeron) Boutin.
Arthur was raised in Lawrence, Massachusetts, where he attended local schools, formed lifelong friendships, and developed a strong work ethic at an early age. He met and married the love of his life, Sandra Michaud, beginning a partnership built on love, hard work, and devotion to family.
In 1974, Arthur and Sandra purchased The Clam Haven in Derry, New Hampshire, from Sandra's father. Together, they transformed it into a successful and well-loved local restaurant. Arthur's dedication to the business was unmatched; he was known for his tireless work ethic and never took a day off during the busy summer season. After selling the restaurant, Arthur and Sandra pursued several business ventures before eventually enjoying a well-earned retirement.
Arthur had a passion for travel and especially cherished spending time at his second home in Florida. He found joy in nature, was a bird watcher who appreciated the simple beauty of the outdoors. He spent many days boating and fishing on the Merrimack River in Manchester, NH. He also loved playing pool at any local bar with a pool table. Above all, Arthur treasured his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. Together, he and Sandra created a welcoming home filled with laughter, love, and countless cherished memories for family and friends alike.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Sandra Boutin of Londonderry; his daughters, Donna Boutin and her husband, Peter Kaszyk, of Bedford, New Hampshire, and Trish Wilkinson and her husband, Arthur, of Londonderry, New Hampshire; and his cherished grandchildren, Anna Grumm, Adam Wilkinson, and Artie Wilkinson.
He is also survived by his sisters, Claire Rockefeller of Dresden, Maine, and Lillian Adams of Salem, New Hampshire; his brothers, Paul Boutin and his wife, Carol, of Methuen, Massachusetts, and Wilfred Boutin and his wife, Kathy, of Bellows Falls, Vermont; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Arthur will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, his generous spirit, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew and loved him.
Following cremation, there will be no calling hours. A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family. Interment will take place at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery in Londonderry, New Hampshire.
