WORCESTER-Hazel M. (Allen) Pina, 99, of Worcester died Sunday, September 24th in Autumn Village Nursing Center. Her husband, Manuel C. DePina died in 1983. She is survived by 2 daughters, Barbara V. wife of Wavely L. Taylor of Worcester and Gloria L. wife of Isaac M. Barrows of East Falmouth and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Her daughter, Shirley “Chicky” Mercier died in 1999.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Melvin and Viola (Hardin) Allen. Mrs. Pina was a graduate of Commerce High School and attended Hoffman School of Electrolysis in Worcester. She was a self-employed electrologist and was also employed by Memorial Hospital and Rutland Heights as a nurses aide. Mrs. Pina was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church and enjoyed traveling and reading.
