Richard O. Crisp, age 69, of Dennisport, formerly of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Gayle P. (Spencer) Crisp.
Born in Norwood, MA on July 23, 1957, he was a loving son of the late Richard A. and Mary Gladys (Ashnault) Crisp.
Ricky grew up in Mansfield and was a 1975 graduate of Mansfield High School. He proudly served his country for three years as a member of the United States Army and was was honorably discharged from duty on December 11, 1980 with the rank of SP4.
Ricky had made his home in Dennisport for the past thirty years and had been employed as a pylon worker. He loved spending time with family and his hobbies included fishing and E-Biking.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Richard “Richie” Crisp and Julianne Crisp. He was the dear brother of Patricia Hickey and her husband Michael of Maine, Susan MacPhee and her husband James of Norton, Sandra White of Bourne, Pamela Lewis and her husband Paul of Plainville, Maryann Auty and her partner Dennis of Maine, Tina Walter and her fiancé John Fahey of Taunton, Ronald Crisp and his wife Rebecca of Barnstable and the late Robert Crisp. He was the stepfather of Melanie Gonsalves and Cassie Jones. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews and was the uncle of the late Jason Hickey, Aaron Hickey and Robert Walter.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend services with military honors on Tuesday, September 8th at 2:30 P.M. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, 1 Connery Avenue in Bourne.
Those attending the services are asked to go directly to the cemetery and please arrive by 2:15 P.M.
Visiting hours are omitted and due to the limitation of floral tributes allowed at the National Cemetery, Ricky’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the New England Center and Home for Veterans, 17 Court Street, Boston, MA 02108.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
