
BUXTON- Jeff Hodgdon was born on July 23rd, 1970, in Portland and unexpectedly passed at his home in Buxton on August 14th, 2026.
He was a devoted father whose greatest joy in life were his children. He loved them unconditionally and never missed an opportunity to show how proud he was of them. Family was at the center of everything he did, and the love he gave will remain with them forever.
For many years, Jeff worked as a commercial fisherman before joining the City of Portland in 2004. He worked as a seasonal groundskeeper for the Portland Sea Dogs before taking over as the Operations Supervisor for the Expo is 2009, where he worked for the next 12 years. He was known for his strong work ethic, leadership, determination, and unwavering commitment to providing for those he loved. The long hours and hard work never deterred him. He faced life's challenges persistence, and a great sense of humor, characteristics that earned him the respect of everyone who knew him.
Those who knew Jeff, will remember him as hardworking, dependable, and fiercely loyal. He was the kind of person who would lend a hand when it was needed and could always be counted on when times were tough.
Loved and respected by all who knew him, Jeff leaves behind a legacy of hard work, integrity, and unconditional love. His absence will be deeply felt, but the memories he created and the lessons he taught will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved children, Zach Hodgdon and Hannah Hodgdon; his parents Cheryl Hodgdon and Jim Hodgdon Sr.; his brother Jim Hodgdon Jr. ; Nieces and nephews, Samantha Rancourt, Brandon Hodgdon, and Lucas Hodgdon
Per Jeff’s wishes, there will be no formal service. Information about a gathering for close family and friends to come at a later time.
