Obituary

Francisco Urbano, 70, of Holliston , died August 3 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.

He was the husband of Frances (Puzzanghera) Urbano.

Born in Havana, Cuba, August 14,1955, the son of the late Francisco and Lidia(Fernandez) Urbano, Francisco came to America at the age of 6.

He had been a resident of Holliston for 33 years.

Francisco was a diligent worker throughout his life, starting as a Boston police officer at the Boston Housing Authority and becoming acting Superintendent before becoming the Chief of Police at Wellesley College. He then pursued a lifelong passion and became the owner of Paperheroes, Inc. a comic and collectible store in Holliston. He finished his working years at Lifeworks; a non-profit committed to advancing inclusion and independence for people of all abilities through personalized services and strong community. While there, he took care of the billing before semi-retiring as a driver, taking autistic adults to and from their jobs, before completely retiring.

Francisco enjoyed watching all genres of movies, collecting old movie posters and comics, reading, cooking, trips to Cape Cod, spending time with family and friends, enjoying the little things in life, and making everyone smile and laugh.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Cassandra and Frank Urbano.

He is also survived by his sister Lourdes Urbano.

Calling hours will be held on August 23, 2026 at the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, MA (ginleyfuneralhomes.com) from 3:00pm - 6:00pm, with a memorial dinner to follow at The Rome in Franklin, MA (https://the-rome.com).
