John P. Hart 74, of Franklin, died Saturday September 23, 2006 at his home, following a long illness. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Burm) Hart.
Born in Boston, a son of the late Patrick J. and Anna J. (Lavin) Hart, he was raised and educated in Boston, and had been a resident of Franklin since 1963.
Until his retirement about 10 years ago, he worked for over 40 years for the former Boston Edison Co. now Keyspan.
He was a member of the Franklin Lodge of Elks, The Franklin Senior Citizens, The American Association of Retired Persons, and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church where he served as a usher at the 7:30AM Sunday Mass for Many years. He also enjoyed to travel and was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He was a former member of Sacred Heart Council Knights of Columbus in Franklin, and was a former coach for the Pop Warner Football, Franklin Little League and the Franklin Rangerette’s.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 52 years are 3 sons John P. Hart Jr. of Attleboro, Richard J. Hart of Woonsocket, Kevin M. Hart of Blackstone, a daughter Maureen F. Hampton of Londonderry, New Hampshire, 1 brother Henry J. Hart of Rockland, and 8 grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Tuesday September 26, 2006 at 8:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin at 9AM. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours are Monday September 25, 2006 from 4-8PM at the funeral home. The Franklin Lodge of Elks will conduct a lodge of Sorrows service at the funeral home on Monday at 6PM.
