
Karen E. (LaPointe) Cintolo, age 75, a lifelong Tewksbury resident and retired Tewksbury Public School teacher, passed away at Lowell General Hospital on Friday evening, August 7, 2026.
She was the beloved wife of John J. Cintolo, with whom she celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary this year.
Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Robert A. LaPointe and the late Doris G. (Massey) LaPointe.
Karen graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School in 1968, earned her degree from Lowell State Teacher’s College in 1972, and later earned her Master’s Degree.
Karen taught elementary school at the former Shawsheen School, Heath Brook School, Dewing School, and North Street School until her retirement in 2014.
In her spare time she enjoyed reading, meeting with friends, and baking sweets and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Mark J. Cintolo and his wife Katie, of Reading; John R. Cintolo and his wife Anne, of Reading; and Michael T. Cintolo and his wife Katie, of Melrose; seven grandchildren: Ryan, Anna, Emily, Jacqueline, Charlie, Colin, and Haley Cintolo; one brother, Robert K. LaPointe and his wife Lynelle, of Tacoma, WA; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Calling hours are Friday, August 14, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Her funeral procession will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 15 at the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Route 38, Tewksbury. Services will conclude with interment at Wood End Cemetery, 33 Franklin Street, Reading.
