Obituary


Phyllis J. Maggiore, a longtime Woburn resident passed away peacefully Sunday, August 9, 2026, following a short period of declining health. She was 95. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Maggiore, Sr. and the late Vincent Raso. Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late Michele and Lena (Micciche) Costa.

Phyllis was raised and educated Boston's North End and later settled in Medford with her family where she was a graduate of Medford High School with the class of 1948. In 1951 she married her first husband, the late Vincent Raso. For over thirty-five years she was the beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Maggiore, Sr., the true love her life, and together they forged a relationship built on love, devotion and respect for each other. Over the years, Phyllis and Joe enjoyed traveling together, vacation cruises, hosting the holidays always with family and friends. They enjoyed spending the winter months at their home in Boca Raton, FL where they made many wonderful friendships and lasting memories. Phyllis was happiest when she was with her family spending time together and celebrating the special moments and milestones of her family, especially those of her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she adored.

Phyllis worked for many years in the Real Estate Industry and also worked as a Manager in the Restaurant Industry. In more recent time she enjoyed arts and crafts and especially enjoyed jewelry making with friends at the Delaney at the Vale where she resided.

Phyllis is lovingly survived by her daughter Linda Forester and her husband Andy of Wilmington, stepchildren, Joseph J. Maggiore, Jr. and his wife Theresa of Medford, Stephanie Maggiore and her wife Lynne Glancy of Haverhill, and Sandra Quatromoni and her husband William of Florida. She is also survived by 10 loving grandchildren and 12 loving great grandchildren. Sister of the late Nina Smith, Lucille, James, Joseph, Louis, and Michael Costa.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Friday, August 14th, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn, at 11 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Phyllis' memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
