Obituary

Susan E. (Baggs) Connolly, age 79, a lifelong Tewksbury resident until retiring to Marshfield for the last 3 years, passed away at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center on Monday evening, August 3, 2026.

She was the beloved wife of Robert J. “Bob” Connolly, who passed away on May 16, 2022.

Born in Chelsea on December 2, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Frank H. Baggs and the late Helen M. (Wickson) Baggs.

Susan was raised in Tewksbury, attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School.

In her earlier years, she worked at MA/COM in Burlington. During that time, she met her late husband while bowling at Brunswick Lanes in Burlington. She later worked as a nurse’s assistant at the Oblate Infirmary in Tewksbury until retiring.

Susan loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren, reading, watching her children play sports, and vacationing at the family camp in New Hampshire where many fond memories were created.

Susan is survived by her three children, Joseph Connolly, of Seabrook, NH, James Connolly and his wife Sarah, of Corte Madera, CA, and Jean Robinson and her husband Jeffrey, of Marshfield: five grandchildren, Millicent, and Owen Connolly and Evan, Chloe and Eddie Robinson. She was the sister of Frank Baggs, Jr. and his late wife Pam, of Newburyport, Nancy MacLeod and her late husband Robert, of Billerica, Mary Kay Rauseo and her husband Bob, of Tewksbury, Jane Bradley and her husband Tom, of Tewksbury, Pam Santa Fe and her husband Joe, of Hampstead, NH, the late Judy Sheeley and her late husband Frank. She leaves numerous nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Thursday, August 13, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Her funeral procession will begin on Friday, August 14, at 10 a.m. followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Tewksbury. Services will conclude with interment at Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East Street, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Stroke Association at www.stroke.org
