Obituary

With profound sadness, yet with the peace and hope found in our Lord Jesus Christ, we announce the passing of Zhang Shen Li, who entered into the presence of her Savior on August 4, 2026, at the age of 86.

Born on October 1, 1940 in Hua Zhou Canton, China, Zhang Shen Li was a woman of remarkable courage, quiet strength, and unwavering faith. She later immigrated to the United States in search of greater opportunities for her family. Through perseverance, hard work, and God’s faithful guidance, she built a life centered on faith, family, and love.

She was a devoted wife, beloved mother, and cherished grandmother. Her greatest joy was caring for her family and watching each generation grow. She gave generously of herself, often placing the needs of others before her own, and taught her children the values of integrity, humility, compassion, respect, diligence, and the importance of education. Her life was a testament to sacrificial love and steadfast devotion.

Her Christian faith was the foundation of her life. She trusted in God’s goodness through seasons of both joy and hardship, finding strength in prayer and comfort in His Word. Her gentle spirit, grateful heart, and quiet confidence in the Lord were a blessing to all who knew her.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory; her children Xiaojun Liu Teresa Yu & Lizhen Liu, her grandchildren Tingting Liu, Jeremy Yu & Vanessa Yu, and many extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Liai Liu and parents.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, caregivers, pastors, and friends whose compassion, prayers, and support brought comfort during her final days.

Family and friends are warmly invited to celebrate her life at Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home located at 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, MA on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 9:30 AM, followed by interment in the Calvary Cemetery in Winchester.

Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we rejoice in God’s promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. We take comfort in knowing that she has finished her earthly journey and now rests in the loving presence of her Lord and Savior.

“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.’” — John 11:25

Her journey from China to America was one of courage and sacrifice. Her journey of faith led her home to the Lord. Her love, wisdom, and example will remain in the hearts of her family forever, and her legacy will continue through the generations she so deeply loved.
