Obituary

Nancy Devlin died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, August 5, with her husband of 60 years, Robert Devlin, by her side. In the quiet comfort of those final moments, she was surrounded by the love of her family—her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and friends while they shared stories, smiling through cherished memories, and feeling the closeness that meant the most to them. Nancy’s family was the center of her world.

She was deeply proud of her daughter Shelly Devlin and Shelly’s son, Joshua Buxton—Nancy’s grandson—along with his wife Alyssa, and their daughter Maeve, brought Nancy great joy. Maeve, just a year and a half old, was a bright light in Nancy’s life, and Nancy’s love for her was something that will be remembered with tenderness for years to come.

Nancy also loved her son John Devlin and his family with all her heart. John’s wife Erin, and their children who fondly called her Nana …Shailyn 14, Jameson 11, and Emerson 6—Nancy’s grandchildren—were a source of strength and happiness, adding to the richness of Nancy’s life and the warmth of their shared times together.

Nancy was also surrounded by the memory and love of her son Bobby Devlin, who preceded her in death. Bobby’s children, Jaymi Chenard and Cheyann Devlin, remained close to Nancy’s heart. Cheyann Devlin and Scott Bradbury, along with their son RJ, Nancy’s great grandson. Paul and Jaymi Chenard, and their son Ryan Nancy’s great-grandson were also part of the family bond that kept Nancy’s spirit close.

Nancy’s sister-in-law, Mary Devlin, who lived across the street, was also an important part of Nancy’s life.

Nancy worked alongside her husband, handling the bookkeeping for Devlin Construction for many years. She was also known for hosting her annual Christmas cookie swap, a beloved tradition she shared with dear friends for more than 40 years. She loved spending time at the family's camp in Washington, New Hampshire, where many happy memories were made.

Nancy will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, her generous heart, her welcoming home, and the warmth and kindness she extended to everyone who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 11, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Buxton's Restaurant, 158 Rockingham Road, Derry, New Hampshire. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate Nancy's life over cake, cookies, and the sweet treats she loved so much, honoring her with the same kindness, warmth, and love that she shared so freely throughout her life.
