Crowley, John Finbar – of Wellesley, passed away peacefully on August 04, 2026, at the age of 84.
John was the beloved husband of Justine (McWeeny) Crowley, with whom he shared a loving marriage and devoted family life for 62 years. Born and raised in Somerville, he was the son of the late James J. Crowley and the late Mary Theresa Hutchinson Crowley. John was the sixth of seven siblings, with a brother and five sisters, and family was an integral part of all their lives growing up.
After marrying John followed some of his siblings to Wellesley, MA. There he built a house on his own and settled down to raise a family. Throughout his career as an Electrician he helped many family and friends with their projects. He enjoyed building the house in Wellesley so much that he took on the challenge again and built another house in Falmouth, MA. There he enjoyed summers with Justine, his children, his dogs and his grandkids.
John also loved new experiences and travel was a big part of what he enjoyed. He enjoyed planing and preparing the perfect travel itinerary and inviting family and friends on the different adventures.
Family was always at the center of John’s life. During the last couple of years when asked what he liked to do for fun he always said doing something with his family. John was the devoted father of Sean Crowley and his late wife Brenda Wells-Crowley of Woburn, Christine Crowley and her husband Gonzalo González Abad of Wellesley, Deanna Crowley of West Roxbury and Janelle Crowley of Natick. He was the cherished Da of Shealagh and Cameron Crowley and took immense pride and joy in all their activities and accomplishments. Brother of the late James Crowley, Mae Kakis, Betty Looney, Theresa Peters, Rita Carney, and Irene Crowley. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to gather in remembrance of John during visiting hours at George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St. Wellesley on Monday, August 10th, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. in St. Pauls Church, Wellesley. Interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley.
