Robert L. Cieri D.M.D. fondly known to many as Bob, was born February 20, 1934, and passed away August 1, 2026 at the age of 92. He grew up in Dedham, MA, later established his home and family in Peabody, MA, then enjoyed retirement in Florida.
Robert was first and foremost a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a man of God, steadfast in his faith as a practicing Catholic. He honored his country through four years of service in the U.S. Army with the Reserve Dental Brigade as an officer. He then dedicated many years to his profession, building and maintaining a dental practice in Wakefield where he deeply valued his staff and patients.
To many, Robert was also known for the care he brought to others, whether as a hockey coach, or as a skilled “DIY” who enjoyed spending weekends building rooms, decks, and helping renovate homes of his own and his children’s. His integrity was unquestionable, his work ethic a role model, and his love for his family reflected a steady balance between responsibility and devotion.
Robert was preceded in death by Carole, his wife and love of his life, his son Michael, his brother Anthony Cieri and mother and father Louis and Nancy.
Robert is survived by his children: David Cieri and Eva, Debra Roveto and Kenneth, Sharon Snell and Timothy, Donna Thrasher and Tracey, Mark Cieri and Cathy, and Amy McGhee and Chad. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jonathan, Michael, Emily, Molly, Christine, Robert, Madilyn, Katelyn and Lilyanna as well as great grandchildren; Aubrey and Kenny.
Visitation at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St. Dedham, on Friday August 7, from 4-8pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Saturday, August 8, at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church, Dedham at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
