Shirley Anne (Brooks) Therrien, age 92, passed away on July 31, 2026 surrounded by her loving family at the Chicopee Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born on April 21, 1934 in Hartford, daughter of the late Albert and Loretta (Vein) Brooks. She is predeceased by her husband George L. Therrien and sons Andre and Raymond Therrien. Shirley is survived by two sons, Michael Therrien of Lynchburg, Virginia and Norman Therrien of Danville, Vermont, and seven grandchildren: Michael Jr., Jacqueline, Meaghan, Sarah, Luke, Peter, and Melanie. Shirley is also survived by one sister, Nanci Jasienowski, of Holyoke. She also found great happiness in being a great great grandmother.
Shirley worked as a home care aide for Chicopee Elder Care and found tremendous joy in ministering to the needs of her clients. For those who have known Shirley long they would all agree that there is one lovely character trait that defined her personality and character. Shirley was a caring and devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend; showering each and everyone in her life with love and kindness. She never missed an opportunity to share a word of encouragement and consolation and was a beacon of good cheer right up to her final days. We were all blessed knowing this dear lady.
