Brenda J. Carter, age 82, a resident of Mansfield for the past thirty-four years, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2026 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
Born in Gordon, West Virginia on May 20, 1944, she was a loving daughter of the late Virgilk and Hazel (Brown) Martin.
Brenda grew up and was educated in West Virginia. Prior to retiring, she was employed as a mechanical engineer at the former Codex Corporation in Mansfield and while residing in Arizona had worked at the Parker Hanniford Company. Brenda loved shopping and going out to lunch with friends.
She was the dear sister of the late David Martin, Shirley Whittington, Gaye Shamblin, who is survived by her husband Donald Shamblin of West Virginia and the late Gretta Mellich. She wqs the former wife of George Carter of Florida and is also survived by her devoted nieces and nephews.
Services and burial will be held at a later date and visiting hours are omitted.
