Dolores Marie (De Cusio) Berardi, 92, of Tewksbury, formerly of Hyde Park, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Heatherwood in Tewksbury, one day shy of her 93rd birthday. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony Berardi, to whom she was married for over 50 years and who passed away on October 26, 2010.
Born in Boston on July 31, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Carmine De Cusio and the late Georgina (Schiavo) De Cusio, both natives of Avellino, Campania, Italy. Known to family and friends as Del, she grew up in the Jamaica Plain section of Boston and was educated in Boston schools, graduating from high school there.
It was in Boston that she met her husband, Anthony, and together they settled in Hyde Park, where they made their home and raised their family for nearly 40 years. Del was a longtime employee of Sears in Dedham, where she worked for many years as a sales associate. She was known for her warmth, her kindness, and her easy way with people, making many lasting connections with the customers and coworkers who knew her.
Del was the devoted mother of Michael Berardi and his wife, Carol, of Pepperell, Massachusetts, and Debra Berardi of California. She was the cherished grandmother of Victor Berardi and his wife, Bryanna, of Pepperell, Massachusetts; Tatum Hardman and her husband, Alexander, of Wales, United Kingdom; Ashley Stowers and her husband, Greg, of California; and Hailey Wagner and her husband, Jesse, of California. She was the proud great-grandmother of Gwendolyn, Oliver, Natalie and Anthony
She was the sister of the late Caroline Covelluzzi, Antoinette Alba, and Louis De Cusio. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Del was a woman of quiet strength and resilience, qualities that remained with her throughout her life and until her final days.
Her children will host an intimate memorial to celebrate Del’s life in the coming weeks.
