
Timothy F. Lynch Jr. a longtime resident of Woburn passed away on July 29th after a short illness at Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading, MA. He was 94 years of age. Timothy was the beloved husband of the late Madeline (Doherty) Lynch, together sharing 55 years of marriage. Born in Lowell and raised in Somerville, Tim was the youngest of 3 children of the late Timothy F. Lynch Sr. and Theresa (Gray) Lynch. He is predeceased by his brother Jack and sister Terese.
Tim honorably served in the United States Airforce from 1951-1955. Serving in England as a mechanic to decommission equipment and planes. Awarded various commendations before being discharged of his duties in 1955.
Tim had a career as a Purchasing Manager in the metals industry for nearly 30 years, going on to build his own business in woodworking and making skid pallets for local companies. Together, Tim and Maddie loved to travel when they could to various places like Alaska, Ireland and Aruba. He also enjoyed time with his family on vacation at Hampton Beach and Loon Mountain, Disney World and Wells Beach. He was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox having worked there in his early years alongside his own father who had more than 25 years at Fenway Park. He was an avid cribbage player, loved to read and spend time with his family most of all. Timothy will fondly be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and of course his little dog Clancy.
Timothy was predeceased by his wife Madeline (Doherty) Lynch and is survived by his children; Patricia Lynch, Timothy F. Lynch III and his wife Sharon, Daniel P. Lynch and his wife Sheila, all of Tewksbury, Michael J. Lynch and his longtime companion Sue Fowler of Woburn and son Gary Hughes and his wife Renate in Bergen, Germany. He was the loving grandfather of Kelsey Dorr and her husband Andrew of Dracut, Brianna Lynch and her partner Sera Scott of Burbank, CA, Haley Dascoli and her husband Josh of Billerica, Taylor Quinci and her husband Francesco of Tewksbury, Timothy F. Lynch, IV in Salem, NH and Dillon Koster and his fiancé Faith of Tewksbury. Also, great grandfather to McKenzie, Hannah and Cameron Dorr and Madeline and Griffin Dascoli.
Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Monday August 3, 2026 at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held on Sunday August 2, 2026 from 2pm - 5pm. Services will conclude with military honors and burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Timothy's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
