
MEREDITH --- Peter Arthur DeBlois, 77, of Chemung Road, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at home with his beloved husband by his side.
Peter was born on August 8, 1948, in Laconia, NH, the son of the late Remi Adelard DeBlois and Gertrude Florence (Garneau) DeBlois.
Peter graduated the Sacred Heart Schools and Catholic University in DC in 1970. Peter owned his own architect company, P2D. He also worked for Gerrity Lumber Yard, Cargo Blake Construction and Waren Architect.
Peter found joy in life's simple pleasures and believed that some of the best moments were spent surrounded by nature. Whether tending a beautiful garden, working tirelessly to create a well-kept yard, or watching flowers bloom through the seasons, he took great pride in making the world around him more beautiful. He was a gifted painter, he expressed his creativity through art, capturing the beauty he saw in everyday life. His love for fishing and kayaking brought him peace and happiness, offering countless hours on the water where he found comfort, reflection, and adventure.
He will be remembered for his generous heart, gentle spirit, and willingness to lend a helping hand. He taught those around them the value of hard work, patience, and appreciating the simple gifts that life has to offer.
Peter is survived by his loving companion and soul mate of 43 years, Delbert Bixby; brother Ed DeBlois and his wife Georgia; step-brother Richard Labrecque; step-sisters Claire Drouin and Pat Lambert; and nephews Chuck, Matthew, and Jeffrey and their families. In addition to his parents, Peter is predeceased by his step-mother Isabelle DeBlois and step-sister June Chamberlain.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia, NH.
