Obituary

Middleton, MA—Deena M. Aliberti was the wife of the late Michael T. Aliberti, a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and loyal friend. Born in Danvers on July 13, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Florence DuBois. Deena was a graduate of Danvers High School. After graduating, Deena attended hairdressing school and became a licensed beautician, where she met her future husband. Deena spent much of her adult life in Groveland, MA, where she moved to following her marriage to Michael in 1970. She worked part-time as a school bus driver for the public school system so her schedule would match her kids’ daily routine. Once her children were a little older she worked for A.W. Chesterton Company in Groveland. After many years there she moved on to work for the Chamber of Commerce in Newburyport.

In 2001, Deena and Michael moved to Center Ossipee, NH where they enjoyed fantastic views of Mt. Washington and Mt. Chocorua from their waterfront property on Ossipee Lake. Deena worked as an account manger for Kingswood Leasing, Inc.

After too many New England winters, Deena and Michael moved south and spent several years living in Palm Coast, Florida. She worked for Curves as a Circuit Coach and they both worked at Universal Studios as a parking toll both operators.

In 2014 they moved back to Massachusetts to be closer to family. Deena spent a few years driving a special needs van for local schools with VanPool Transportation LLC. After Michael passed in 2018 she moved back to the eastern part of the state to live with her brother and for the past few years she has worked for North Shore Auto Auction in Ipswich, MA.

Above all, Deena was devoted to her family. She treasured every moment spent with her husband, children and grandchildren, friends and neighbors. Whether she was caring for those around her, sharing her memorable laughter over food, wine, or coffee, or opening her home to family and friends, she always had a way of making everyone feel welcome. Her kindness, quiet strength, and generous heart left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She treasured every moment spent with family and there was nothing that brought her more joy than watching her children and grandchildren grow, celebrating their accomplishments, and creating lasting memories together. Her love was steadfast, unconditional and the foundation and legacy of her family.

Even after being diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer that had spread to her brain, she faced her illness with remarkable courage and grace. Her strength inspired those around her and her love and enjoyment for life and her family only grew stronger.

Deena (Mum, Grammy, Auntie Deena) passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

She is reunited with her beloved husband, with whom she shared 48 wonderful years of marriage. She is survived by her son, David and her daughter Jill, daughter-in-law Cinnamon, 3 brothers, Dennis, Dick, and Ron Dubois, many nieces and nephews, extended family, a long list of dear friends who will miss her deeply; and her cherished grandchildren, Alex, Josh, Lexi, Travis , and Ben, who were the greatest source of her pride and joy.

A celebration of Deena’s life will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at 116 Dayton Street, Danvers MA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to GO2 for Lung Cancer in her name.
