Chicopee – Raymond F. Mayotte, age 90, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, at the Life Care Center of Wilbraham, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 28, 1936, in Chicopee, the son of the late Adelard and Edmee D. (Charpentier) Mayotte.
Raymond honorably served in the U.S. Air Force. A man of determination and lifelong learning, he worked for many years as a tool maker before returning to school at the age of 40, where he earned his associate’s degree in Accounting and graduated with high honors. He later dedicated many years of service as a computer consultant at CompUSA before retiring.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Elder Council #69 in Chicopee, and gave generously of his time as a proud volunteer at the Chicopee Kielbasa Festival. Raymond enjoyed simple pleasures and friendly competition, including playing pitch, pool, and bowling. He also had a deep appreciation for travel, with Aruba holding a particularly special place in his heart, where he considered it his second home. He found enjoyment in watching World War II documentaries, reflecting his enduring respect for history and service.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marcelle (Veilleux) Mayotte, who passed away in 2017; his brothers, Eugene and Richard Mayotte; and his sister, Janet Landry.
He is survived by his daughters, Judith “Judy” Maylott and her husband, Jonathan, of Somers, CT, and Karen Beaulieu of Chicopee; his grandson, Nicholas Beaulieu and his partner Meghan Rivera, of Knoxville, Tennessee; along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory and miss him dearly.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Life Care Center of Wilbraham for the exceptional compassion and attentive care they provided to Raymond during his stay.
Calling Hours and Funeral Services:
Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield Street, Chicopee.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose de Lima Church. Burial will follow at St. Rose de Lima Cemetery.
