Stephanie M. (Olstynski) Motyl, age 96, of West Mansfield, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving and comforting family on Monday, July 27, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Motyl, to whom she was wed for thirty-eight years at the time of his death in 1989.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey on April 9, 1930, she was a loving daughter of the late Joseph and Stephanie (Ksyk) Olstynski.
Stephanie grew up and was educated in Jersey City. Following high school graduation, she worked as a receptionist in the Emergency Room, in Jersey City as well. She was a dedicated mother and wife to her adoring family and after starting her new family, she was employed at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. Following the passing away of her husband, Mrs. Motyl worked for fifteen years at Roche Brothers in Norton.
A resident of Mansfield for the past sixty-two years, she was actively involved as a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield, where she formerly taught religious education, sang in the choir and also served as a Eucharistic Minister. Stephanie’s family was her greatest gift in life and the satisfaction she received attending her grandchildren’s events was unmeasurable.
She is survived by her devoted children, Stephen Motyl and his partner Susan Hood of Florida, Jeanne Hebert and her husband Daniel of New Hampshire, Joseph Motyl and his wife Sandy of Westford, Mary Kass and her husband William of Foxborough, John Motyl and his wife Lynne of Pennsylvania and Stephanie Motyl of Mansfield. She was the dear sister of Henrietta Olstynski of Florida and the late Henry Olstynski. She is also survived by her treasured nine grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, as well as her many loving nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two grandsons.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, August 7th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 8th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
