Joan L. Cunnick, of Wellesley and Falmouth MA, passed away peacefully at Care Dimensions Hospice House, Lincoln, MA on April 26, 2026. Joan is survived by her brother, William R. Cunnick of Falmouth, MA and her sister Alice L. Cunnick of Natick, MA. Joan also leaves behind several cousins.
Joan was born to Shirley L. Cunnick of Westfield NJ and Falmouth, MA and Dr. William R. Cunnick of Westfield NJ and Port Washington, NY and was raised in Westfield, NJ.
Joan had a long successful insurance career after graduating from Ithaca College. She was a Broker and a Consultant for several national firms and was a recognized leader in her field. In addition, Joan served on several boards including Operation A.B.L.E of Greater Boston and was Membership Chair of The Boston Club. Upon retirement from the insurance industry, Joan began a second career as a licensed real estate broker serving the West Suburban towns outside of Boston.
Joan enjoyed a full schedule in retirement. Golf, tennis, gardening, theater and travel brought joy to Joan. Joan was blessed with many wonderful friends that shared her passion for fun activities, giving back to the community and Falmouth. Joan enjoyed beach time with close members of the Moors community, golf at Woods Hole Golf Club and evening suppers at the beach.
