CHICOPEE – Thomas L. “Tom” Williams, 88, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. He passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Springfield on October 15, 1937, a beloved son of the late Malcolm and Edith (Dusseault) Williams. He was raised in Springfield, graduated from Cathedral High School, and moved to Chicopee in 1984 where he lived the remainder of his life. He served his country in the United States Air Force and attained the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a custodian for the United States Postal Service at the Bulk Mail Center in Indian Orchard and retired many years ago. He also worked at the Big E for over 35 years, last stationed in the Lost People Center. He was an avid reader and most especially enjoyed spending time with his faithful canine “grandpup”, Mandy. Tom joins his faithful canines, Maddy and Molly, as they awaited him over the rainbow bridge. Above all, he was a loving and devoted husband and father. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Leslee A. (St. Jean) Williams. They were married at the former Saint Therese of Liseux Church in Agawam on October 6, 1984 and they were blessed with over 41 years of happiness together. He also leaves his two loving and devoted daughters, Theresa L. Williams and Tracey L. Williams, both of Chicopee; his dear sister, Joy T. Williams of Ludlow; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and extended family members. His family will receive friends on Thursday, July 30, 2026 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Funeral will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 beginning at 8 a.m. at the Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Committal Service with United States Air Force Military Honors will follow the Mass at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.
