
Billy Jacob Sandifer, 96, of Tifton passed away July 21, 2026, at Cypress Pond Assisted Living Facility in Tifton.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Tift Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Steve Davis officiating.
Mr. Sandifer was born on November 10, 1929, in Tift County and was the son of the late Cecil Sandifer and Mathe Whitley Sandifer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Hand Sandifer, three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Carroll and Annette Sandifer, Tillman and Marjorie Sandifer, C. W. and Trinka Sandifer and one sister and brother-in-law, Edith and A.N. Adcock and three nephews, Neal Adcock, Jim Adcock and Paul Sandifer.
He is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Bill Johnson and several nieces and nephews. Nieces, Dianne Curry, Sherry Hoover, Anne Johnson, Dawn hand, Paige Murray, Lynn Doss Thornhill and Vonda Fenn. Nephews, Steve Sandifer, Mark Sandifer, and Brett Sandifer.
He graduated from Tifton High School and later was drafted into the Army where he served during the Korean Conflict, where he was responsible for washing tons of military clothing.
After his term of service was over, he returned home and began farming with his daddy and later was able to buy his own farm where he continued to farm until his retirement.
In his spare time, he loved to fish, coon hunt, quail hunt and go to dove shoots.
He was a member of Brookfield Baptist Church for many years and faithfully attended until his health kept him at home.
