WORCESTER___John W. Fallstrom, 71, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, at Holden Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center after a brief illness.
John was born on October 16, 1954, in Worcester, Massachusetts. He grew up in Millbury and spent many of his happiest years living on Sugden Reservoir in Spencer with his wife and best friend of 50 years, Cheryl.
John worked as a machine maintenance welder for more than 20 years at Thermo Electron in Auburn. He was also a proud member of the D.E.G. (His many lifelong friends will know who they are.)
John loved boating and music and truly lived to his own beat. Rock music wasn't just something he listened to—it was the soundtrack of his life. He and his beloved wife, Cheryl, spent some of their happiest times on their boat, enjoying warm summer nights, listening to their favorite music, and gazing at the stars. John was fascinated by the possibility of life beyond Earth and often wondered what might exist in the vast reaches of the cosmos. Though his earthly journey has come to an end, it is comforting to imagine that he has finally discovered the answers to the questions that fascinated him for so long.
John is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cheryl (Fikoski) Tubert Fallstrom; his sister, Carol McCann, and her husband, John, of Alton Bay, New Hampshire; his twin sister, Janet Odgren, and her husband, Edward, of Oxford, Massachusetts; and his sister, Sandra Trayner, and her husband, Todd, of Thompson, Connecticut. He also leaves behind his nieces, Shaina Donahue, Rebecca Dowd, and Lindsey Finkel; his nephews, Jonathan Odgren and Cory Damm; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
John was predeceased by his parents, William J. Fallstrom and Rita Fallstrom.
In accordance with Johnny's wishes, a private gathering will be held to spread his ashes on Cape Cod, where his father's ashes were laid to rest. The Cape was a place that held a special place in Johnny and Cheryl's hearts and where they shared many of their fondest memories together. His family finds comfort in knowing he will rest in a place that brought him so much peace and happiness.
