
BUXTON- Noreen "Queenie" Patricia (Wallace) White, 87, passed away on July 20, 2026, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, following complications from congestive heart failure.
She was born on November 5, 1938, at 9 Lancaster Street in Portland, Maine, a daughter of the late Alonzo "Kenneth" Wallace, Sr. and Elizabeth Margaret (Gillis) Wallace.
Noreen graduated from South Portland High School in 1957.
On September 28, 1957, she married James Henry White, Jr., who predeceased her.
Noreen was known to all — family, friends, and even her doctors and medical staff — as "Queenie," a nickname she was given years ago and loved.
Noreen worked in food service for many years, retiring as a Food Service Manager in the South Portland school lunch program after 20 years of service.
Noreen loved her family, friends, and enjoyed crafts.
She was predeceased by her husband, James Henry White, Jr.; and her siblings, Loraine K. Lundgren, Dorothy A. Tolliver, Nancy E. Norton, Bonita Edgerton, and A.K. Wallace, Jr.
Noreen is survived by her children, Teresa N. Nappi of Windham, Maine; Brenda L. Crockett and her husband Michael of Putnam, Connecticut; and James P. "Jay" White and his wife Jill of Buxton, Maine; her grandchildren, Nicholas Nappi, Adam Nappi, and Heather Nappi; Benjamin Hawthorne; and Ryan White and Anna White Plum; and six great-grandchildren.
Noreen passed peacefully with her family by her side.
Per Noreen's request, no services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association/American Lung Association, the Salvation Army, Good Shepherd Food Bank, or Angels of Appalachia.
Burial will be private amongst family at Calvary Cemetery in South Portland where she will be laid to rest with her late husband James.
