Josephine L. "Josie" Arigo, 92, of Medford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Catherine (Giuliano) Pizzuto.
Josie embraced life with a spirit of adventure, enjoying experiences such as parasailing and hot air balloon rides. She was an avid reader who loved working on jigsaw puzzles and she had a lifelong appreciation for music. She also enjoyed swimming and diving and was a sports fan, cheering on the Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots and Villanova basketball team. A pianist with a beautiful singing voice, she performed on the Tremont Temple radio show during the 1950s.
Her greatest joy came from traveling and spending time with her family.
Josie was the beloved wife of the late John J. Arigo and the devoted mother of Joseph Arigo and his wife, Cynthia, and Karen Tripoli and her late husband, Christopher.
She was the loving grandmother of Dr. Danielle Arigo and her husband, Jonathan Wilson; Gina Hart and her husband, Nick; Kristin Clark and her husband, Brian; and Chris Tripoli. She was the proud and loving great-grandmother of Gunnar Hart and of Henry, Josephine, and Gabriel Clark.
Josie was the dear sister of Corinne Testa and her husband, Geno; Lorraine Salerno and her husband, Raffaelle; Julie Ischia and her husband, John; the late Faye Foti and her late husband, Paul; and the late Jacob and Clay Pizzuto. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members who will miss her greatly.
In accordance with Josie and her family's wishes, funeral services will be private.
