Lisa A. Gregorio, Retired Boston Fire Department, Fire Alarm Operator, Age 58 of South Boston, passed away July 16, 2026.
Loving daughter of Manny (Ret. BFD) and Mary (Grealish) Gregorio, Sister of Beth (Ret. BFD) and Andy (Ret. BFD) O’Halloran, Jill and Jimmy Cox, Michael Gregorio and Debbie Deroche, Amy Gregorio (BFD) and Jay Allen. Aunt to Mikayla and Joe Cerilli, James Cox Jr., Molly Cox and Devin Cox. Great Aunt to Olivia Cerilli, Ava Cerilli and Camron Cerilli. Niece to Christopher Gregorio.
Lisa was born, raised and continued to live in South Boston, a community she loved. Whether she was walking to a friend or family's house, scootering the familiar streets to sit with her pals at the Lagoon, she would often stop to laugh and chat with her many friends and neighbors along the way.
Lisa is a graduate of Saint Brigid's Grammar School, Cardinal Cushing High School and Katharine Gibbs Business School. Her true passion came to her when she received her acceptance to begin a new career with the Boston Fire Department as a Fire Alarm Operator. There was no greater job for her with the love she had for this City and her fellow Jakes and peers. If you ever called into Fire Alarm and the dispatcher answered “fire alarm, operator Q, what is your emergency”? You were greeted by Lisa, Operator Q, Q as in Queen. Lisa’s words.
Lisa had a crazy love for animals. From her family pets, feeding saltine crackers to her neighborhood bunnies, to her best pal later in life, her fur baby, Oreo. If Oreo wasn’t with Russell you would find him captured by Lisa and hanging at the Lagoon.
Our family would like to thank everyone for your support over the last week.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 22, 2026 from 9 to 10:30 AM at Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street, South Boston. Funeral mass to follow at 11:00 AM Saint Brigid’s Church, 841 East Broadway, South Boston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend both services.
