
SPRINGFIELD – Benoit M. Bouffard, 90, of the Glenwood section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, July 16, 2026. He passed into Eternal Life at his home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Saint Raphael de Bellechasse, Province of Quebec, Canada on December 5, 1935, a beloved son of the late Eudore and Yvonne (Theberge) Bouffard. He was raised and educated in Canada and came to Springfield around 1955 where he lived the remainder of his life. He was a talented carpenter and was last employed as a framer and roofer for the Toussaint Construction Company. After suffering a fall while roofing, he recuperated and would often spend time helping out at Nicky's Pizza in Agawam. During his leisure time, he enjoyed bowling, horse racing, and cheering on the Boston Red Sox and the Montreal Canadians. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and many friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife and best friend, Paula T. (St. Laurent) Bouffard who was Called Home on October 7, 1989. He leaves his two loving and devoted children, Annette M. Liquori of Southwick, and Susan D. Bouffard and her partner, Damien Lemelin, of Chicopee; his loving daughter-in-law, Louise (Gagnon) Bouffard Filiastolfone and her husband, Victor Filiastolfone, of Springfield; his former son-in-law, Nicola Liquori of Feeding Hills; his five cherished grandchildren, Pasquale Liquori and his wife, Sendy, Anthony Liquori and his wife, Danielle, Lucia Liquori-DiBenedetto and her husband, Martino DiBenedetto, Jonathan Bouffard, and Benjamin Bouffard and his partner, Lauren; his eleven cherished great grandchildren, twins, Cristiano and Sebastiano Liquori, Michelina and Nicola Liquori, Gianni and Vincenzo Liquori, Emilia, Francesca, and Gennaro Liquori-DiBenedetto and Matthew and Maeve Bouffard; his dear brother and sister, Paul-Emile Bouffard and his wife, Nicole, and Helene Bouffard, all of St. Raphael, P.Q., Canada; his dear sister-in-law, Lorraine Bouffard of Springfield; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends in the United States and Canada. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his beloved son, Mark P. Bouffard who was Called Home on October 1, 1991; his cherished grandson, Franco Liquori who was Called Home on March 30, 2008; his cherished great grandson, Adriano Franco Liquori who was Called Home on December 15, 2010; and his three dear siblings, Huguette Roy and her husband, Lionel, Roger Bouffard, and Monique Roy and her husband, Evariste. His family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. His Burial will follow the Celebration of Life Service at Calvary Cemetery, 292 Hampden Street, Chicopee, MA 01013.
