Rosa (Vazzino) Bertorelli passed away at home in the company of her loving family on Wednesday, July 15th. She was 83. Born and raised in Augusta, Sicily, Rosa was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Concetta (Silvestro) Vazzino.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Rosa came with her family to the United States at the age of 13. They lived in Boston's West End and Somerville. Once married, Rosa and her beloved husband Alfredo eventually settled in Medford in 1975, where they raised their family. Devoted to her family, Rosa enjoyed keeping a beautiful and welcoming home. She was active socially and was a member of the Ladies of the Appian Club, as well as the Societa di San Domenico. She was happiest with her husband of nearly 55 years, Alfredo, and sharing in the lives her children, grandchildren, sibling and friends.
The beloved wife of Alfredo Bertorelli, Rosa was a devoted mother to Steven H. Bertorelli and to Rita M. DiCenso and her husband Thomas. She was the loving grandmother to Nicolas and Valentina. Rosa was the dear sister of the late Maria Lottatore, Carmelo Vazzino and Emanuele Vazzino. She also leaves many dear nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St, Medford on Tuesday morning, July 21st from 9 - 11 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:30 AM in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rosa's name to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St., Suite 250, Framingham, MA 01701.
