Corrine M. (Paschal) Rector, 97, she went to be with Lord with her daughter by her side on July 14, 2026 at Middletown Rehabilitation Center.
She was born, November 27, 1928 in Anderson, the daughter of Herbert and Helen Maude (Henderson) Paschal.
At the age of 14, she worked in her father's machine shop making engine parts for World War II. Her idol was Amelia Earhart and at the age of 16 she earned her private pilots license. Her father obtained his pilot license a few years later. She worked in her grandparent's tomato canning factory and in their grocery store. She was a clerk for Sears & Roebuck Department Store and later worked at the Board of Church Extension of the Church of God. For many years she volunteered for Community Hospital in Anderson
She volunteered at Markleville Elementary School with the children who had special needs. She was a member of Bethany Christian Church and during the 1960's she taught Sunday school for preschool and early elementary children. During the 80's and 90's could still do mathematics in her head. She enjoyed helping with her daughter's school parties, teaching her how to sew and do crafts, and was a brownie leader for a couple of years.
She enjoyed vacationing and especially their trip to Alaska. She always wanted to skydive but could not accomplish this goal due to her age. She loved spending time with her sisters and brothers-in-laws.
Corrine is survived by her daughter, Denise (John) Kendall; three grandchildren, Heather (Seth) Biddle, Jeffrey Edwards and Hannah Edwards (Ryan Patterson); two step-granddaughters, Holly (Jon) Jones and Amy Kendall; seven great-grandchildren; three nieces, Cheryl (Butch) Baker, Kathy Rousey, and Dawn (Mick) Campbell; three nephews, Jerry Rector, Mike (Teri) Rousey and Greg Smith; several great nieces and nephews; her best friend of 83 years, Doris McMahan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Helen Maude Paschal; her husband, George "Dan" Rector died in 2002; two sisters, Vivian Smith and Mary Rousey; two nieces, Terri Ann Marsh and Jackie Henderson.
Funeral service will be on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 1:30pm at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Jim Harless officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:30am to 1:30pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
A special thank you to Ryan Patterson who came and played his guitar and sang to mom several nights prior to her passing away and also to Hannah who came and sang to her. Another special thanks to Middletown Rehabilitation Center and Paradigm Hospice for their most loving care and attention to my mom.
