In Loving Memory of
Feleku Haile Yadeta
May 21, 1962 – June 21, 2026
Mrs. Feleku Haile Yadeta was born on May 21, 1962, in Debre Zeit, Ethiopia, to her beloved parents, Ato Haile Yadeta and Woizero Asegedech Alayu.
She completed her elementary education at Model School, attended Debre Zeit Comprehensive Secondary School, and earned her higher education in Accounting at the Debre Zeit branch of Addis Ababa University.
Feleku began her professional career with the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority, where she worked in accounting. As computer systems were introduced, she became one of the pioneers in technical training, helping implement new technologies while serving her country with dedication, professionalism, and excellence.
After immigrating to Boston, Massachusetts, she continued her pursuit of education and personal growth by studying English and computer skills through Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD). She later served as an Accounting Analyst at South Shore Mental Health Center for seven years. Motivated by her passion for caring for others, she earned a Medical Assisting diploma from Bryman Institute and went on to faithfully serve as a Medical Assistant at St. Elizabeth's Hospital—now Boston Medical Center Brighton—for more than twenty years, retiring only after illness made it no longer possible for her to continue.
Guided by an immense heart and unwavering faith, Feleku opened her home and her life to two children from Ethiopia who had lost their parents. She lovinglyadopted them and brought them to the United States, providing them with opportunities, stability, and, above all, unconditional love. Through her devotion and sacrifice, she raised them into honorable and successful adults. The family she built stands as one of her greatest legacies and a lasting testament to her compassion and generosity.
Throughout her life, Feleku was known for her tireless work ethic, gentle spirit, and steadfast commitment to her community and her church. She was a co-founder of the Kidanemeheret Tsiwa Maheber at St. Michael Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in Roxbury, where she faithfully served through charitable fundraising, ministry, and outreach to those in need. Her leadership, dedication, and deep love for God continue to be reflected in the church family she helped
strengthen.
Feleku lived a life defined by humility, kindness, patience, and service. She treated every person with dignity and respect, regardless of age or circumstance. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, and place the needs of others before her own. Her warmth, quiet strength, and generous heart left an enduring impact on all who were blessed to know her.
Above all else, Feleku treasured her family. She was a devoted and loving wife to her beloved husband, Grim Bello, and a deeply loving mother to her cherished son, Uriel Girma. Her family was the center of her life, and she cared for them with unwavering strength, wisdom, faith, and unconditional love.
After courageously facing illness and receiving devoted medical care, Mrs. Feleku Haile Yadeta peacefully entered eternal rest on June 21, 2026 (Sene 14, 2018 E.C.), at the age of 64.
Although her earthly journey has come to an end, her legacy of faith, compassion, generosity, and selfless service will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a family, church community, and countless friends whose lives are forever richer because of the love she shared.
