Denise R. (Parent) Olson, 74, of Westport, unexpectedly passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026. She was the wife of the late David L. Olson, they shared 49 years of marriage.
Mrs. Olson was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Robert E. and Juliette C. (Menard) Parent and had been a longtime resident of Westport. Prior to retirement, she worked as a Registered Nurse in the operating room at St. Anne's Hospital, Fall River. She was a Communicant of St. George Church, Westport, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was an avid gardener, loved staying active, and never missed a social gathering. Denise loved being with her family, her grand and great grandchildren and her many friends.
Survivors include her 3 children: Matthew D. Olson and his wife Traci of Fall River, Melissa A. Jerome and her husband Adam of Dartmouth and Jonathan R. Olson of Westport; a brother: Robert E. Parent and his wife Madeleine of Fall River; 3 sisters: Vivianne J. Parent of Assonet, Janice R. Silvia and her husband Michael of Westport and Elaine L. Margarida and her husband John of Westport; 5 grandchildren: Ashley, Julie, Hannah, Jennifer and Noah; 2 great-grandchildren: Maisy and Louise; along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport, MA 02790 at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Tuesday from 5-7 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
