Joseph Ralph Coppola, age 95, of Wakefield passed away on Sunday, July 12th, at Brightview of Wakefield. Raised and educated in Boston’s North End, he was the son of the late Raffaele and Concetta (Parciabosco) Coppola. Joe worked as a butcher in Boston’s North End and as a delivery driver for the Boston Globe for 30 years. Later in life he assisted his two sons with a food cart business outside Fenway Park for 20 years. Joe and Vicki spent winters in Hollywood Beach, Florida, surrounded with family and friends from all over the country.
Joe was the beloved husband of the late Victoria “Vicki” (Naimo) Coppola, and the devoted father of David Coppola and his wife Patricia, and Robert Coppola and his wife Cheryl. He was the loving grandfather of Kristopher Coppola and his wife Lauren, David Michael Coppola, Stephanie Coppola, Dr. Kyle Coppola and his wife Hannah, Lauren Coppola and her husband Brian Rubin, and Kimberly Coppola. Joe was the loving great grandfather of Lyanna, Leo, Isla, Journey and Peyton Coppola, and dear brother of the late Angelina Giallanella, Giusti Coppola, Pasquale Coppola, Frank Coppola, and Jo Anna DeMarco.
Visiting hours will be held in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Thursday, July 16th from 9 to 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
