
WARD, James D. of Norfolk, passed away on July 10, 2026 surrounded by his family.
Jimmy was a graduate of Dedham High School and Wentworth Institute. He was a master electrician at Island Lighting & Power.
Jimmy was a very kind hearted and funny individual. He certainly had a great sense of humor. He was a very skilled craftsman. All it took was a few minutes of research and he could fix or build almost anything. Jimmy was the source of love, strength, kindness and laughter. His memory will forever remain in our hearts.
Jimmy was a cherished father, husband, brother, uncle and friend and his presence will be deeply missed.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Maryann of almost 35 years, his children; Shannon of Quincy, MA, Kaitlyn and her fiancé Phil Bemis of Kailua, HI, Matthew of Bremerton, WA., sisters Gail Altieri of N. Easton and Patty Giunchetto of Walpole and by his many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High Street, Dedham on Wednesday, July 15th from 4:00-7:00 pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Thursday July 16th at 9:00 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, Dedham at 10:00am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Oncology Team at Mass General Hospital, Yawkey 7E Clinic, 55 Fruit Street, Boston, MA 02114, Attention: Dr. Philip Saylor.
