In loving memory of Jeanne DelOrfano
9/1/1960- 6/30/2026
Jeanne Marie DelOrfano (Cuddy) , 65, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Throughout her journey, Jeanne faced every challenge with remarkable strength, grace, and unwavering faith in God. Jeanne was born in Springfield and grew up in Medford, Massachusetts. She was the second youngest of ten children. She was the daughter of the late John Joseph and Thelma Marie (Riordan) Cuddy. She is preceded by her eldest sister Marie Walker.
Jeanne was a loving mother to her four children: Michelle Higgins and her husband, Brendan of Wakefield; Chantelle Dennis and her husband, Eric of Salem, NH; Jenelle DelOrfano of Woburn, MA; and Paul DelOrfano Jr. of Stoneham, MA. Although she and Paul DelOrfano Sr. later divorced, together they built a family that remained the center of Jeanne's life.
Nothing brought Jeanne greater happiness than being "Gigi" to her cherished grandchildren: Joelle Higgins, Tyler Higgins, and Rocco Dennis. Her grandchildren were her greatest pride and joy, and she loved each of them beyond measure. She also loved her fur grand-puppies Ollie and Wrigley.
She is lovingly survived by her eight siblings and their spouses: Phyllis Dangora, Jackie Lawson (John), Jerry Cuddy (Jane), Johnny Cuddy (Betsy), Janet Cuddy (Tony), Michael Cuddy, Mary Cormier (Ken), and Mark Cuddy (Nicole). She was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. Growing up in such a large family meant a lifetime of laughter, adventures, and unforgettable gatherings that Jeanne treasured deeply. Those memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.
In recent years, Jeanne made her home in Vero Beach, Florida, though Boston always held a special place in her heart. Every visit back home was an opportunity to reconnect with family and indulge in one of her favorite things: exploring Boston's incredible food scene. She delighted in food tours and had a unique gift for describing every meal with enthusiasm and appreciation. Sharing good food with the people she loved was one of life's simple pleasures, and it is a part of her that will be fondly remembered.
Jeanne was deeply passionate about her faith and her relationship with God, which was something that got her through the toughest of times. Her faith gave her strength, comfort, and hope through every season, especially during her battle with Cancer.
She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, love, kindness, and devotion to her family. She truly had the most joyous and uplifting personality, always laughing and smiling. Jeanne will be profoundly missed by her children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and countless friends. While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace and reunited with those who have gone before her.
A celebration of Jeanne's life will be held Sunday July 19, 2026 at the Knights of Columbus in Wakefield, MA from 1:00-5:00pm. The family appreciates the love, prayers, and support they have received during this difficult time.
