Ricky Vincent Hughes, 65, of Tifton passed away Monday, July 6, 2026, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2026, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Matt Rutland officiating. Mr. Hughes will be laid to rest at Douglas City Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. July 9, 2026. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Landon Meens, Bryan Ware, Jordan Cirilo, David McMahan, Darrell Branam, John Robinson and Slade Lott will serve as pallbearers.
Born December 16, 1960, in Kettering Northamptonshire, England, Mr. Hughes was the son of Patricia Ann Ritchie Allen and Lonnie Doyle Allen of Douglas and the late Ira Vernon Hughes. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Jason Hughes. Before retiring, he was a salesman with Tenneson Nissan in Tifton. One of his greatest loves was riding his Harley and he loved going fishing.
In addition to his mother and stepfather, Mr. Hughes is survived by his wife, Melinda Beard Hughes, of Tifton; two daughters and one son-in-law, Leanne and Matt Westberry of Irwinville and Lisa Hale of Tifton; one sister, Jerri Lott of Douglas; two stepbrothers, Paul Allen and Brian Allen; one stepsister, Lonna Ursery; four grandchildren, Landon Meens, Caleb Hale, Alexus Hale and Reid Bennett; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Stacy and Becky Beard of Lenox.
