Obituary

Sarah E. “Sally” (Flores) Mace, age 77, of Norton, formerly of Middleborough and Mansfield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Mace, to whom she was wed for nearly thirty-seven years at the time of his death on March 22, 2007.

Born in Dorchester, MA on November 12, 1948, she was a loving daughter of the Alfred J., Sr. and Ellen T. (Tobin) Flores

Sally grew up in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston and was a 1967 graduate of Dorchester High School. She continued her education, proudly graduating with an associate’s degree in Busines Administration from the Colorado Technical University.

A dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, Mrs. Mace had also been employed as an Administrative Assistant at the former Epoch of Norton. Before moving to Norton, she had resided in Middleborough, where she was a member of the Oak Point Drama Club and in Mansfield, where she was a communicant and former Religious Education Teacher at Saint Mary’s Church.

Sally’s family was the focal point of her life and their love and devotion to her always came first. She was extremely talented in crocheting and what she created was always a work of art. Sally especially enjoyed the holidays, Christmas being her favorite and she’ll always be remembered for her love and kindness for animals.

She is survived by her devoted daughters, Christina E. “Tina” Melberg and her husband Paul of Norton and Lisa M. Grenier and her husband Parnell of Middleborough. She was the cherished grandmother of Allison, Emily, Megan, Tyler, Jake, Ryan, Darian and the great grandmother of Elliana. She was the dear sister of Leonora “Nonie” Lilley of Hanson, the late Alfred J. Flores, Jr. and is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.

A service in celebration of her life will be held at a later date and place to be announced.

Visiting hours are omitted and burial at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield will be private.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
