AUBURN-Charles E. Neargaard, 80 of 20 Glenview Avenue died Monday, September 9th in the Lutheran Home of Worcester after an illness. His wife Beth (Brumwell) Neargaard died in 1957. He leaves a daughter, Sandra J. Neargaard of Littleton; a sister, Marjorie Anderson of Auburn; 2 nieces, Nancy Fenton of Worcester and Linda Fabrizius of Auburn; a cousin Vangi Levy of Worcester.
He was born in Worcester son of Charles W. and Gertrude (Dickson) Neargaard and lived in Auburn for many years. He graduated from South High School and Wentworth Institute of Technology. He was an Army veteran of World War 2. Mr. Neargaard was employed as a custodian at the Auburn Mall for many years before retiring. He was a longtime member of bethel Lutheran Church and Chester P. Tuttle American Legion Post 279
The funeral will be held Wednesday, September 11th at 2:30 PM in Bethel Lutheran Church, 90 Bryn Mawr Avenue. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be Tuesday, September 10th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester.
