Obituary

Elizabeth Ann “Liz, Wiffy” (Cronin) Emery, 75, of Bellingham, Massachusetts, passed away on June 15, 2026.

Born on September 27, 1950, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Liz was the beloved daughter of the late Elizabeth Ann (McGuigan) Cronin and Michael Patrick Cronin. In 1961, her family relocated to Bellingham, Massachusetts, where she grew up, attended local schools, and graduated from Bellingham High School with the Class of 1969.

Liz spent her early adult years raising her family and later enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her cherished husband of 18 years, Owen W. “Mickey” Emery; her son, Timothy Buskirk; her parents, Elizabeth (McGuigan) Cronin and Michael Patrick Cronin; her brother, Michael Cronin; and her sisters, Mary Eileen Spear and Patricia Mary Cronin-Parker.

She is survived by her brother Edward J Cronin & his wife Joyce, her daughter, Caroline Buskirk, and her daughter-in-law, Selina Buskirk. Liz was a proud grandmother to Jeremiah, Sarah, Tyler, Lindsey, Kellsey, Travis, Kayleigh and Erin. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Savannah, Shyanne, Santino, Daniela, Jose, Tyler Jr., Arya, Garnet, and Oran, who brought her great joy, along with many nieces & nephews.

Liz had a vibrant personality and a gift for making others laugh—whether she intended to or not—and her sharp wit and sense of humor will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. She loved to dance, tell stories, and spend time with family and good friends. She lived life in her own candid and spirited way. If you knew Liz, you always knew exactly where you stood, something those close to her grew to appreciate deeply.

Liz enjoyed cooking in her younger years and had a lifelong appreciation for good food, especially trying new restaurants. She was also an avid pool player and remained active as a surviving spouse with the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #818 in Rhode Island, a community that held special meaning for her.

Funeral services will be private. Liz will be laid to rest alongside her beloved Mickey at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at Otis Air Force Base in Bourne, Massachusetts, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mickey and Liz may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #818, c/o Rev. Phil Salois, 16 Sharon Parkway, North Smithfield, RI 02896.

Liz will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her humor, honesty, and the love she shared with her family and friends.
