Loreto Gentile of Somerville passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026. He was 87 years old. Loreto was the beloved husband of Lucia (Gentile) Gentile, and were blessed with 62 years of marriage. Born in Prezza, Abruzzo, Italy, he was the cherished son of the late Americo and Vincenza (DiBenedictis) Gentile.
Prior to his retirement, Loreto was employed as a mason with Local Union #22
Loreto was the devoted father of Americo Gentile and his wife Laura of Dracut, Vincent Gentile of Somerville and Maria Gentile of Greenville, RI. He was the adored grandfather of Anna Maria Stuart and her husband TJ, Zachary Gentile and the late Samantha Lee Gentile and the loving great-grandfather of Vada and Vaughn and Evan and Avery. Loreto was the dear brother of Gina DiMeo and her late husband Giovanni DiMeo of Prezza, Italy and the cherished uncle to Antonietta and Sabatino.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, MA, on Monday, July 6, from 4-8PM and again on Tuesday, July 7 at 9AM before leaving for a funeral Mass in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford Street, Somerville, MA; beginning at 10AM.
Services will conclude with burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
