Obituary

Jack A. Catanzaro, 73, of Chopmist Hill Road, North Scituate, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Naomie J. (Becker) Catanzaro. They had been married for 38 years.

Born in Providence, Jack was the son and only child of the late Bartolo Catanzaro and Rosemarie (Capita) Catanzaro.

Jack was a talented musician whose love of music was woven throughout his life. He played the bass and mandolin, including performing on both the mandolin and bass that he built himself by hand. His creativity, craftsmanship, and passion for music reflected the way he approached life; with dedication, patience, and heart.

Outside of music, Jack found joy in spending time fly fishing and riding his Harley, embracing the freedom and peace both pursuits brought him.

Above all, Jack treasured his family. He leaves behind his children: Dawn Catanzaro of Portland, Maine, Stephanie Catanzaro of Warwick, Elizabeth Smith of Johnston, and Anthony Catanzaro of Ludowici, Georgia; his cherished granddaughters, Autumn and Faye Smith and his cousin, Albert Mazzone of Lincoln.

His funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 7th at 11am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be Monday, July 6th from 4-7pm. Donations in his memory may be made to the SPCA
