Stephanie Leigh Morrison, 54, of Revere, Mass., passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born in Cambridge on November 20, 1971, to Donald and Nancy Morrison. Stephanie grew up in Randolph and Acton, attending Acton Public Schools and graduating in 1989. She later earned an Associate’s degree from Dean College. Over the years, Steph worked in executive administrative roles, sales, and excelled in finance. One of her proudest professional milestones was earning her Series 7 license and working as a registered securities representative for State Street Bank.
Steph fondly cherished her childhood memories, especially summers spent at Flagg Hill and Nashoba Valley pond with the Killoy and Dillon families. Her favorite vacations included trips to Hampton Beach and Alton Bay at Lake Winnipesaukee, where she always enjoyed fried clams at the Tamarack Seafood shack. She loved Christmas and adored decorating to the sound of classic Christmas carols with her mom. Steph also shared a deeply close relationship with her dad, whom she always called “Pops.” He was her go-to guy for everything and always had her back. When he passed away in 2010 from a heart attack, Steph was left with an emptiness in her heart, leading her to donate yearly to the American Heart Association in his memory. A true city girl, Steph spent many years living in South Boston—"Southie"—which she proudly called home for the majority of her life. Most recently, she moved to Revere Beach, where she found her greatest peace by the ocean.
Steph was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Nancy, and brother, Matt. She is lovingly survived by her sister Robin (Nashville, TN), Brittany and her husband Rick, and niece Racquel (Nashua, NH). She is also survived by her ex-husband, John Kamau Maina (Raynham, MA).
In the last few weeks of her life Stephanie found comfort and reassurance in her sisters and friend Stephen.
You were a character, Steph! We will forever miss you and remember the good times we had as a family. We hope you are up in heaven having many laughs with your favorite people, including Pops, Uncle Ross, and Cousin Donnie. May your soul rest in eternal peace.
A service of remembrance will be held on Sunday, July 26th at 4:00 PM at Mt. Hope Cemetery in West Acton, MA. Family and friends are invited to gather afterward for a reception dinner at The Bamboo in Westford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Stephanie's memory to the MSPCA Animal Shelter at 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA.
