Zalius Louis “Tonton”, age 81, of Boston, Massachusetts, transitioned on June 20, 2026. He was born on January 26, 1945, in Bonneau, Haiti, to parents, Zaport and Florilia Louis.
Zalius was educated in Haiti and then migrated to Boston, MA in 1978. Upon his arrival he quickly began working in the hospitality industry. He worked tirelessly but he did not forget his obligation to his family he left behind. During the last 20 years prior to retirement, he worked as a Steward at Omni Parker House Hotel. Zalius was a man of faith, a beloved husband to Clomelie Louis, a father, and grandfather.
He was the father of six children: Gisele, Fequiert, Emmanuela, Flora, Naromie and Donna—and the grandfather of eleven children: Franceline, Samuel, the late Charlene, Janine, Anthony, Christian, Ethan, Darla, Jada, Zachary and Victoria. His grandchildren were instrumental to his well being by showing up for him and comforting him in his last days.
Zalius had been a devoted parent and a role model to his children. He did not believe in physical punishment, instead he preferred to lead by loving his children in spite of their shortcomings. By this example, he instilled in them the value of compassion and respect one has for themself and one another.
Lastly, although Zalius is known for his reserved and quiet nature, he will mostly be remembered for his kindness and devotion to his family and friends. It had been a privilege to have known him as a father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
